Rules & Terms

1. Dinâmica do Festival Online: O FARO é um concurso de cinema exclusivamente online que opera anualmente com uma estrutura única, apresentando três períodos de classificação ao longo do ano. O culminar desses períodos leva a um Dia de Resultados finais, no qual todos os vencedores das categorias de prêmios individuais e o Vencedor do Grande Prêmio para Melhor Filme do Ano são anunciados. Embora o FARO não transmita rotineiramente filmes como parte de seu concurso, reservamos o direito de solicitar permissão para exibir os vencedores do Melhor Filme durante uma janela curta e designada. Esta possível exibição está sujeita às seguintes condições para garantir a segurança e a integridade dos filmes:

a. Confirmação de Direitos Autorais: Os cineastas devem fornecer consentimento expresso e confirmar a propriedade dos direitos autorais para qualquer transmissão de seu projeto audiovisual, garantindo que todos os direitos necessários estejam em vigor para exibição pública.

b. Visualização Segura e Medidas Antipirataria: No caso de transmissão, os projetos audiovisuais serão protegidos com criptografia, tornando-os seguramente visualizáveis sem risco de acesso não autorizado ou distribuição. A plataforma de streaming empregará medidas antipirataria robustas, incluindo, mas não limitado a, capacidades de geobloqueio e gestão de direitos digitais (DRM) para prevenir o download e o compartilhamento ilegal.

c. Acessibilidade Limitada: A janela de streaming será breve, e o acesso será estritamente controlado e limitado a um público especificado, garantindo exclusividade e respeito pelo trabalho dos cineastas.

2. Uso de Stills e/ou Fragmentos de Clipes: Você certifica que seu trabalho está pronto para exibição em festivais (todas as músicas, fontes, visuais, etc., estão liberados mundialmente, perpetuamente, em multiplataformas), e que a propriedade intelectual é sua. Se você está agindo como distribuidor, afirma que obteve permissão do proprietário dos direitos autorais. Você nos permite usar stills e clipes curtos de seu projeto audiovisual nas plataformas digitais do festival, incluindo nosso site e canais de mídia social, exclusivamente para fins promocionais, não comerciais e educacionais.

3. Download: Você concede permissão ao Diretor do Festival e aos Avaliadores do Grande Prêmio para baixar seu(s) projeto(s) audiovisual(is) para auxiliar na visualização offline e para atender às necessidades de programação do festival. Pode haver uma oportunidade para seu projeto audiovisual ser destacado, a ser confirmado; nesses eventos, você nos permite exibir seu projeto audiovisual online com criptografia apropriada e proteção por senha.

4. Procedimento de Alocação do Grande Prêmio: Após a notificação de ser selecionado como o Vencedor do Grande Prêmio e destinatário do prêmio em dinheiro, a parte vencedora deve reconhecer o recebimento e aceitar o prêmio dentro de quatorze (14) dias úteis. A falha em fazê-lo resultará na perda do Grande Prêmio, que será então atribuído ao segundo colocado da competição. É responsabilidade do vencedor garantir que os canais de comunicação com o FARO permaneçam abertos e responsivos para facilitar a entrega pontual do prêmio. Esta cláusula destina-se a acelerar o processo de premiação e manter o ímpeto do sucesso do destinatário, garantindo que a celebração da excelência continue sem interrupções.

5. IMDb: A equipe do FARO pode atualizar seus prêmios/nomeações nas suas páginas do IMDb, mas não iniciará a criação de páginas de projetos se elas não existirem.

6. Código de Conduta: Você se compromete a manter respeito e cortesia para com todos os envolvidos.

7. Feedback: Embora não forneçamos feedback sobre cada inscrição, oferecemos a opção de uma crítica detalhada.

8. Sem Reembolsos e Espírito Esportivo: Não serão fornecidos reembolsos com base na insatisfação com as decisões finais do festival.

9. Taxa Única para Todas as Categorias: Uma taxa única garante que seu projeto seja avaliado em todas as categorias do festival para possíveis prêmios/nomeações.

10. Tipos de Inscrições Aceitas: Aceitamos uma ampla gama de formatos de inscrição.

11. Permissões de Inscrição: Equipes de cineastas podem inscrever múltiplos projetos na mesma rodada do festival.

12. Restrições de Inscrição: Uma vez que um projeto audiovisual tenha sido inscrito em uma edição específica, ele não pode ser reinscrito em edições subsequentes.

13. Críticas de Filmes: Para solicitar uma crítica escrita, seu projeto audiovisual deve ter sido inscrito na competição.

14. Seleção Oficial: A inscrição não garante automaticamente o status de "Seleção Oficial".

15. Lista de Mailing: Ao inscrever-se no FARO, você automaticamente se junta à nossa newsletter.

The culmination of these periods leads to a final Results Day, on which all individual award category winners and the Grand Prize Winner for Best Picture of the Year are announced. While FARO does not routinely stream films as part of its contest, we reserve the right to request permission to showcase the Best Picture winners during a designated short window. This potential showcase is subject to the following conditions to ensure the security and integrity of the films:

a. Copyright Confirmation: Filmmakers must provide express consent and confirm copyright ownership for any streaming of their audiovisual project, ensuring that all necessary rights are in place for public exhibition.

b. Secure Viewing and Anti-Piracy Measures: In the event of streaming, audiovisual projects will be protected with encryption, making them safely viewable without risk of unauthorized access or distribution. The streaming platform will employ robust anti-piracy measures, including but not limited to geoblocking capabilities and digital rights management (DRM) to prevent downloading and illegal sharing.

c. Limited Accessibility: The streaming window will be brief, and access will be tightly controlled and limited to a specified audience, ensuring exclusivity and respect for the filmmakers’ work.

2. Use of Stills and/or Clip Fragments: You certify that your work is ready for festival exhibition (all music, fonts, visuals, etc. are cleared worldwide, in perpetuity, multi-platform), and that the intellectual property is yours. If you are acting as a distributor, you affirm you've secured permission from the copyright owner. You allow us to use stills and short clips from your audiovisual project on the festival's digital platforms, including our website and social media channels, exclusively for promotional, non-commercial, and educational purposes.

3. Downloading: You grant permission to the Festival Director and Grand Prize Adjudicators to download your audiovisual project(s) to assist with offline viewing and to fulfill the festival's programming needs. There may be an opportunity for your audiovisual project to be showcased, to be confirmed, in those events you permit us to showcase your audiovisual project online with appropriate encryption and password protection.

4. Grand Prize Allocation Procedure: Upon notification of being selected as the Grand Prize Winner and a cash prize recipient, the winning party must acknowledge receipt and accept the prize within fourteen (14) business days. Failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of the Grand Prize, which will then be awarded to the runner-up (2nd place) of the competition. It is the winner’s responsibility to ensure communication channels with FARO remain open and responsive to facilitate the timely delivery of the prize. This clause is intended to expedite the award process and maintain the momentum of the recipient’s success, ensuring that the celebration of excellence continues unabated.

5. IMDb: FARO's team can update your awards/nominations on your IMDb pages, but will not initiate the creation of project pages if they don't exist.

6. Code of Conduct: You pledge to maintain respect and courtesy toward all involved.

7. Feedback: While we don't provide feedback on every submission, we do offer a critical review option.

8. No Refunds and Sportsmanship: No refunds will be provided based on dissatisfaction with final festival decisions.

9. One-Time Fee for All Categories: A singular fee ensures your project is evaluated across all festival categories for potential awards/nominations.

10. Accepted Submission Types: We accept a broad spectrum of submission formats.

11. Submission Permissions: Filmmaker teams can enter multiple projects in the same festival round.

12. Submission Restrictions: Once an audiovisual project has been submitted to a particular edition, it cannot be re-submitted in subsequent ones.

13. Film Reviews: To request a written critique, your audiovisual project must have been submitted to the competition.

14. Official Selection: A submission does not automatically grant "Official Selection" status.

15. Mailing List: By submitting to FARO, you automatically join our newsletter.
